Lincoln St Woodworks | Jon Cesaro | Ep 38

Lincoln St Woodworks | Jon Cesaro | Ep 38

Jon Cesaro says his interest in woodworking started the way most people find themselves starting a new hobby.
“You buy a house, and you’re like, ‘Oh, I could build that cheaper.’ Then you go out and buy a saw. The next thing you know, you have a wood shop.”
Cesaro, who works for an apparel company and found himself furloughed during the pandemic. While raising his two toddlers with his wife Jess, he never envisioned for his hobby going full-time. He built furniture for his own house, maybe a few pieces for friends and family.
“I learned the majority of my woodworking from YouTube, whether that’s how to do basic woodworking, tool information, and so on,” he said. “I saw people doing woodworking and thought, ‘I could do that.’ Eventually, I looked at the YouTube videos themselves and thought, ‘Why not try that, too?” and Whatknot enjoy!

My name is JP and I am a craftsman, graphic designer, and network engineer. This website is devoted to documenting my DIY life. I also provide creator services including video editing, motion graphics, and plan design. Check out the project and plans section to see my work. Please, take off your coat, kick off your shoes, and stay awhile. But leave your shoes on in the shop, that could be dangerous! Tony Rouleau | EP 36 | Hillview Wood & Metal

Tony Rouleau | EP 36 | Hillview Wood & Metal

From Tony's Facebook Page: Hey! I’ve picked up a fair amount of new followers and crested 25k so you get to see my dumb face, learn about my cherub-like demeanor, and get to know some things about me. I’m Tony, I’m a Scorpio, and I’m born, raised, and live in farm country in upstate NY. I, however, do not like Pina Coladas or getting caught in the rain. I have a wonderful and beautiful wife, am a stepfather to three amazing teens, as well as help oversee a menagerie of cats, dogs, and chickens. I work full time for a small ten-person machine shop that has its hands in many things. We mainly support the paper manufacturing industry, but we also work in packaging, medical, and basically anything that walks through the door. I program and run vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis CNC mills with the occasional manual lathe or mill job. The 5 axis is my daily driver where I focus on mainly machining small intricate parts. I’ve been a machinist for 25+ years, part of that time I worked as a millwright. I moonlight as a toolmaker and “run” Hillview Wood & Metal LLC. I’m extremely grateful to all of you and thank you for taking a second or two out of your day to look at what I’ve made, make a supportive comment, or even more, spend your hard-earned money on something I create in my cellar. I’m hoping to have a couple of new tools to add to the pile this year as well as my normal offerings, so follow along. & What Knot!

The Appalachian Heritage Woodshop | Jerill Vance | Ep 35

The Appalachian Heritage Woodshop | Jerill Vance | Ep 35

    Bio Of Jerill Vance
In 2009, after more than 32 years in the chemical industry, I left and obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fine Woodworking from New River Community and Technical College in Lewisburg, WV.
In 2011 I obtained my business license to build furniture as well as teach woodworking. Utilizing a grant from the WV Commission on the Arts I built a wood drying kiln in 2012 and was also juried into Tamarack in Beckley, WV. I initiated a woodworking program and taught for a non-profit organization in the Kentucky prison system. I began demonstrating woodworking with hand tools at Heritage Farm and Village Museum in Huntington, WV in 2014. I began The Appalachian Heritage Woodshop project in 2017 and now share my love of furniture with others through videos on WV PBS stations and YouTube.
I am now able to enjoy the profession of custom designing and building furniture, as well as, teaching woodworking to others.
About Appalachian Heritage Woodshop on PBS
In 2014 Jerill Vance had an idea for a TV show that would combine Appalachian history and furniture. After much thought, discussion, trial and error learning process, and hard work, the six episodes of Season 1 aired in October 2018 on West Virginia PBS (WPBY). The Covid 19 pandemic delayed Season 2 but the 13 episodes began airing in July 2021. Thirteen episodes of Season 3 are in production and will air in Summer 2022.

Voeltner Woodworking | Matt Voeltner | Ep 34

Voeltner Woodworking | Matt Voeltner | Ep 34

Voeltner Woodworking found its roots doing cabinets, built-ins, furniture, and hand-crafted goods made with quality materials in Houston, Texas. From cutting boards to large custom-fit built-in cabinetry, each project is handled with care and precision. Workmanship handed down from generation to generation, Voeltner Woodworking was founded by Matt Voeltner, the son of a fine craftsman.
At this time, I am primarily focused on small projects, namely cutting boards. This is a part-time venture for me, so I am unable to keep up with the velocity that was generated in previous years. Voeltner Woodworking became so busy with kitchen cabinets, built-in entertainment centers, and large furniture that it took too much time away from what is really important - FAMILY!
So, while I have a passion for furniture and built-ins, I am unable to take on too many projects of this nature at this time. Please take a look around the Products page if you’re looking for something special.
We are leaving the portfolio of larger projects active to showcase our craftsmanship of previous projects. We hope you enjoy it.
    Thank you!
    Matt
